The Full Story

Manorah is proud to introduce Edinburgh’s first fully halal Thai street-food restaurant, located on the lively and culturally diverse Clerk Street. Our vision is simple: to bring the authentic flavours of Thailand to everyone, without compromise, in a space that feels welcoming, warm, and rooted in family tradition.
Our story begins long before our opening day. The recipes we use today come from generations of home cooks, street-food vendors, and family kitchens. These dishes carry the flavours of childhood memories, celebrations, and the everyday meals that shaped our love for Thai cuisine. At Manorah, we honour those origins by preparing everything with the same care, attention, and authenticity that our family has always practiced.
As a fully halal restaurant, we are committed to offering inclusive dining where everyone can enjoy the richness of Thai flavours. Every ingredient we use is carefully selected, every sauce is made from scratch, and every dish is cooked using traditional methods passed down through our family.
Manorah is more than a restaurant — it is a family-run space built with heart. Our goal is to bring people together through food, whether they’re trying Thai cuisine for the first time or returning for the flavours they already love. We’ve designed our atmosphere to reflect Thailand’s vibrant street-food culture: lively, colourful, and full of energy, yet always warm and welcoming.
Since opening our doors on February 15th, our mission has remained the same: to share the true taste of Thailand with the Edinburgh community and create a place where culture, flavour, and family come together beautifully. At Manorah, every meal tells a story — and we’re proud to share ours with you.
